Cate House Joins CEF Team as Marketing Manager
The Chatham Education Foundation announces the appointment of Cate House as Marketing Manager. In this role, Cate will lead social media and communication planning and assist the Executive Director and Chatham Reads Program Manager.
Since 2006, Cate has been a freelance writer, editor and designer for numerous UNC-Chapel Hill entities including the Office of the Provost, Office of University Development, University Libraries, and Kenan Flagler Business School. She has also provided services for the Chatham Education Foundation and Chatham Reads as well as several businesses.
Prior to her freelance work, Cate worked as the Publications Editor in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Office of University Development. Here she managed and produced a three-times yearly newsletter, as well as produced campaign progress reports, fiscal year reports, direct-mail pieces and proposals. At UNC, Cate also worked as a Communications Specialist and Staff Writer for Endeavors magazine, Carolina’s award-winning magazine, and other university publications.
Cate is an active volunteer and board member of the Chatham PTA Thrift Shop. She serves as a school representative, organizing work groups of volunteers to tidy up the store after hours; as a supervisor; and as the board secretary. Cate has two kids in Chatham County Schools and since her eldest was in kindergarten, has been a member of the PTA at her children’s schools, serving in various capacities.
In her free time, Cate loves to read, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and hike, preferably in the mountains.
